October, my favorite month!

Blogees!
October has always been my favorite month...why?

Reason Number One:
Halloween is in October and I've always been a sucker for Halloween. My mom used to dress me in all kinds of costumes as a baby and once I got older and started choosing my own...well let's just say I had the BEST taste when it came to costumes. I don't remember them all, but I know my sister and I were both Power Rangers one year. I think I was the pink one and she was yellow or maybe it was the other way around. When I was 13 (maybe younger), I was a baby....YUP you heard it folks, a baby. I was a clown another year, a farmer the next, and my favorite was last year's (because I made it myself/with the help of my sister) I was KOOLAID GIRL! :) Unfortunately, this year I decided not to dress up. Not because I couldn't figure out what to be (I have plenty of ideas), but because I really don't have anything to do! On another note, I loved Facebook creeping this past weekend on all of my friends and looking at all of your costumes! :)

Reason Number Two:
It starts to get cold! Fall is set and winter is coming! I absolutely LOVE snow. Don't like driving in it, but I love to look at it! :) Fashion wise; I love wearing boots, scarves, and cute winter coats/sweaters. Who can go wrong with a super cute outfit?!

Reason Number Three:
Starbucks starts bringing back the holiday drinks/treats! If anyone knows me, they know that the past 3 months of my life, I've given at least $300 to Starbucks. Mostly because I find myself going there a lot to study. But who doesn't LOVE a holiday drink?!

Reason Number Four:
FAVORITE REASON OF ALL....
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!
As most of you may know, my family has been through some crazy thunderstorms and tons of bumps in the road....However the biggest bump we hit was the day my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was diagnosed with Pre Stage 1 Breast Cancer in November 2009 and boy oh boy did it open my eyes to a lot of things. Being the strong woman she is, she conquered her first surgery in December 2009 and battled her way through 4 other surgeries up until March 2011. After new boobs and lots of pain, my mother is now and has been for the past year and a half; BREAST CANCER FREE!
My mom is my hero and the strongest woman I know. She has been through so much throughout her life, but was never the woman to put any of her struggles on anyone else. God has truly blessed me with the most amazing, selfless, beautiful, strong, (the list goes on) mother. She has always put her family first and worried about herself later. No matter what it took, she always did the VERY best she could for us. (AND STILL DOES!) With that said;
Mom; I just want you to know how absolutely PROUD of you I am and how THANKFUL I am for you. You have done SO much for Amanda and I, words can't even explain how amazing you really are. You've taught me so much and raised me to be the woman I am today and I can't thank God enough for blessing me with you! You are the BEST mom a girl could EVER ask for and I'm SO glad you're MINE! (and Amanda's too!) I LOVE YOU! Can't wait to see you in 3 weeks!<3

--PS; I also love the color PINK and it does compliment my skin VERY well. :)

Well, that's all folks!
Thanks for reading!
You will NOT want to miss the next post! :)

2 months!!

My dearest blogeeeees!
It's been two months since I've written anything, but I want everyone to know I'm doing WONDERFUL! :)

Some new things have been happening in my life since the last time I posted...

School-
As most of you know, I've finally started college! After 3 years of taking time off to figure things out, I'm back at it! I find myself appreciating it a lot more than I probably would have if I'd gone right after high school. Best of all; I ENJOY IT! I'm doing well in my classes and actually getting homework done!

Recent Trip-
I recently went home to TEXAS! After about a year and two months, I was able to get back to where I belong and can I just say...most amazing trip ever. I was surrounded by GREAT people and couldn't have asked for a better time! I met some fantastic new people and even reconnected with an old friend! I also got to meet my bestfriend's daughter for the first time and can I just say...I LOVE KIDS! I'm so thankful for everyone in my life and the friendships I still have. Not many people can say they've been bestfriends with a person for almost 10 years! Blessed doesn't even describe how great it is!

Indiana-
Indiana is still nice! Nothing has really happened that's too crazy. Although, it is a bit colder than I'd prefer. I like boot weather, don't get me wrong but being from Texas, I LOVE me some heat! :)

That's all I've got for you today, folks!
Sorry it wasn't the most amazing post, but I PROMISE you won't want to miss the next.<3

Lovelovelove.

Since I've been away...

Hey friends!
It's been 3 weeks since I've written and boy oh boy has a lot happened! Well, not really, but kind of. :)

On the 15th of this month, Jessi and I took the kids on an adventure of a lifetime. I guess not really an adventure, just the longest car ride of their life! We drove from Fishers, Indiana to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. What were we thinking, right? Well Jessi had a wedding to attend in Fargo, North Dakota and since my mom's house was on the way, they just dropped me off for the weekend.
Now as most of my friends know, my 21st birthday weekend was by far the BEST weekend of my life, well the weekend I was in South Dakota has to be the second best! I can't even express how much fun I had. South Dakota was never my first choice when it came to places to move after highschool, but over the years I lived there, life definitely got better for me!

So back to the weekend! Well we got into town on Thursday morning. My mom greeted me at the door and welcomed me HOME! Being the amazing mom she is, while at the fair the previous week she got me a shirt! And if any of my friends know me, they know EXACTLY why it says "SWAG" on it in graffiti letters! So excited about it! After my 4 hour nap, my mom, sister, and I went to go get lunch. We also got our nails and toes done. :) While getting pampered, Jessica Leigh came to see me! Thursday night consisted of seeing Jessica, Alicia, and 2 of my favorite Young Life leaders, Jamie and Jess! Jamie, Jess, and myself did our usual Thursday night BDubs date! (Missed Kari a lot though!) Overall, an amazing day!

Friday was great, too! I got to see and hang out with some really fantastic people! It was my cousin's friend, Tommy's birthday! He got a party bus and you best believe I was on it! But before the party began, I went to a Young Life event where they announced Marty as the new area director! (Mark, you'll always be missed!) But so excited for Marty and to see what Sioux Falls Young Life has in store the next year! With the leaders, it's seriously going to be amazing no matter what!

Saturday was more of a chill day. Just hung out with the family and friends!

Sunday was also a very chill day. Hung out with my mom, sister, and favorite cousin EVER!<3 Damon Lee Bailey. If anyone knows me, they know him. We're bestfriends!

In a nutshell, to ALL the people I saw last weekend...THANK YOU so much for one of the best weekends I've had in my lifetime so far! Without y'all I don't know what in the world I would do!

Momma, Amanda, Damon, Devonne, Paige, Jess, Alicia, all my Young Life friends...
I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU TONS!

After I got back from South Dakota, it was time to start SCHOOL...COLLEGE...OMG! I'm taking two classes online and one at the school, and boy has this week been insane! Didn't think I could do it, but I would LOVE to announce that I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY FINISHED MY FIRST WEEK OF COLLEGE!<3

That's it for tonight, folks! It's bedtime.
But before I say goodnight, here are a few snapshots of the weekend! :)

 GOODNIGHT, BLOGGEES!<3<3<3

Ohhh, phobia!

As I'm sitting here on my bed, in a new place, I've realized I have a lot more phobias than I thought. I used to think I wasn't scared of anything, besides small things. Now that I'm actually thinking about it...I'm a lot more scared of things than I used to be.
These are a few I came up with...

Number one: Spiders.
I hate spiders. I don't care how small or how big they are, I hate them.
I don't like to kill them, I don't like to be near them. I freak out when I see them.
Once upon a time, my mom told me that when you see one spider, there's usually 2+ close by. I truly believe that! Because it never fails that I see at least 3 spiders hanging out at once. Not just one, but multiple!!! Either way, 1..2..3...10 I hate them.

Number two: Any flying insect.
They're all pointless anyways.

Number three: Disappointing my parents.
I think a lot of people can relate to this. No matter how old I get or how far away I am from them, just about every decision I make, I pray it doesn't disappoint them.

Number four: The future.
There's not even a name for this, but I am so afraid for the future. Not because I think the world is going to end, but because I like the way things are right now. Maybe you could say I'm afraid of change. Then again, I'm not afraid of the world changing or people changing, I'm afraid of me changing. Things in my life going wrong. I'm not sure, kind of crazy to even think about.

I've named a few of mine, write me a comment and name a few of your fears. I'd love to hear! And if you're afraid of the same things I am, then I'm glad I'm not alone!<3

Until next time, bloggees...

Me...A college student? What?

I would like to announce that as of today... I, Allison Marie Parker, am a college student and I could not be more excited! :)

I am so excited to start school this fall. I will be attending Ivy Tech Community College here in Indianapolis! After 3 years of taking some time off to figure things out for myself, I am so ready to kick this whole college thing in the butt! I still am undecided on what in the world I want to do, but I will be majoring in Liberal Arts. My life has been full of surprises lately and this one is the most exciting!

While sitting through my BeAR session today, I have realized that it's NEVER too late to start school. There were many people in the same room as me that were probably grandparents and they're going back to school. I have so much respect for people like that! It's seriously never too late to get a degree and start your life on the path you want to. Well, maybe for people serving life in prison but that's a different story, lol!

<3 Ivy Tech, here I come! <3

New place, new friends, new adventures...

I've lived in Indiana for about a month and a half and can I just say how much I love it! The city is just so beautiful. From the buildings to the sidewalks, it's gorgeous! I'm sure there's a prettier place in the world, but to me this is gorgeous!

Since I've lived here, I've driven around a lot more than Fredricka (fred-ree-kuh), my car, can probably handle! But I'm sure she wants to see the town too and that's why she hasn't given up on me yet! I'm so thankful for the Maps app on my phone or I'd probably be lost in a neighborhood I shouldn't be in. I can also thank my new friend, Sydney, for showing me the rough areas and helping me avoid them!

Speaking of Sydney, we've had a lot of adventures together. Almost like we're experiencing the town together, even though she's been here almost her entire life. Can I just tell you fellow bloggees (and other people) how thankful I am for this girl! She's seriously awesome and I'm so glad I've met her and we're able to experience new things together. This past weekend we went downtown to check out the "black expo"..still not sure what that is because we never even made it there. But we did manage to do other things and have a blast! I figured I'd go ahead and share those things with you. :)

Our first stop...food! Since we live about 20 minutes North of Indianapolis, on our way down we decided to stop in a little area called Broadripple and enjoy some Applebees! We seem to eat there a lot, but it's so good we couldn't pass it up! Even though we just about froze our butts off, it was still fun!

She got her famous Strawberry Daiquiri and I got my favorite White Peach Sangria drink!

After a delicious dinner and drinks, we decided to head into the city and experience greatness! :)
But first, we had to stop so I could get a picture with the city!
I'm telling you, we're spontaneous!

Okay now seriously, this time we're headed into the city...Promise!

But one more thing slowed us down..Lil' Wayne! Yes, I said it Weezy F. Baby! We were cruising downtown a little bit and as we were sitting at a stop light, I looked over to my left and there was Lil' Wayne about to cross the street!!
He even looked at me for the picture. :)

After being starstruck, we found a parking spot, by the "library" which really ended up being a beautiful monument! :) After we parked, walked like 2 blocks, we realized we probably shouldn't park that far from downtown/where all the cops were so we went back and moved the car. But before we did, we had to get pictures of/with the monument! (Still not sure what the monument was for, but hey it was pretty!)

Next stop after moving the car...DOWNTOWN!

After finding probably the best parking spot ever, we started walking around. First stop, bar! I was craving a margarita!! As we were walking, we saw a pub! It was also a casino/OTB. OTB is horse-racing or something like that. That was...interesting, but at least the bartender was cute!
As we walked around downtown we saw tons of interesting cars..ones that looked like this...
And nope, I'm not kidding.
I still just don't understand why that is cute...
We also saw tons of cops. Cops on bikes, cops on horses, cops on motorcycles, cops in cars, and even cute ones with sexy boots on! It was cop central downtown!

But overall, the night was fantastic and it's definitely something I could do every weekend! :) I'm so thankful for Sydney and her just trying new things with me, even if they sound completely crazy! :) Thanks again Jen for introducing us!<3

It's almost midnight and officially bedtime! :) Until next time...

Young Life Camp... Y the L not?!

It's the wonderful season of summer
and that only means ONE super amazing thing happens...

The best week of your life...

Young Life Camp!!!!!

I'd love to bore you all with telling you about my background with Young Life, but I figured I'd show you a few snapshots first. :)

The view, the view, LOOK AT THE VIEW, it was absolutely beautiful!
These were from the very first time I went to Young Life camp, in the summer of 2007. I couldn't have asked for a better group to go with. As nervous as I was to get on the bus and travel for 17 hours with people I barely knew, I did it! When they say it's the BEST WEEK OF YOUR LIFE, it really REALLY is!
One day that I would love to share with you guys is July 12th, 2007. It was a Thursday at Frontier Ranch in Buena Vista, Colorado, we had been at camp for 4 days and everyday I was hearing about this MOUNTAIN (yes, I said MOUNTAIN) that we had to hike up on Thursday. Oh boy was I dreading it.. I mean come on I'm supposed to be on vacation and hiking up a freaking mountain was NOT my idea of a vacation. Well back to it being Thursday. First of all, we had to get up before the sun was even up...I mean who does that? Second, we had to eat a crazy big breakfast...I'm sorry you want to me climb a mountain after I just ate all that food?...It's more like naptime. Third, I'm a big girl (always have been)...Do I really look like I can hike up a mountain?!...Umm no!
Well anyways, we had to load up in buses and drive to the bottom of Mt. Crysilite (could be spelling that wrong). Took like 45 minutes, worst ride of my life. Then, we had a little pep-talk, and then it was time to climb this freaking mountain.
I struggled the entire 2 and a half miles up. I was ready to give up after 30 feet. It was uphill the entire time and my legs felt like jello. Not to mention the altitude, OH MY WORD! After many, many stops, we were getting to the last, like 200 feet and I just sat down on a rock and couldn't move anymore. I was telling all of my Young Life leaders that I couldn't do it and I needed to get back down. But did they let me? Of course not!! Heather, Jeff, and Christy were not going to let me give up when I was so close. They all practically carried me up the mountain and as soon as I reached the top...OH BOY WAS I IN HEAVEN!! It was absolutely AMAZING! The view was gorgeous and every amount of energy it took to get up this mountain was WELL worth it. At that moment, for the first time ever in my life, I realized what the God of the Universe had created. He created every single little detail for ME, for US. I accepted Christ into my life that day and I couldn't thank God enough for giving me a REAL chance with Him.

Sorry, that was a forever long story, but the rest of this post should be short. :)

My second time at Young Life camp...the following summer. I obviously ended up LOVING it, because I went BACK to Frontier Ranch! This time...for an entire month!!

Second time around was even better than the first! I spent a week as a Camper and the next 3 as a Work Crew Server! :)

Needless to say, if you ever have the opportunity to go to a Young Life camp I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU TO. When they say "best week of your life" they REALLY mean it. :)

Thanks for reading. It's bedtime for this girl! Hope you enjoyed the pictures!<3

And so it begins, my very first blog...

For the longest time I've pondered on the idea of creating this little monster, but never thought I'd actually do it. Well today, Friday July 13th, 2012, I have decided to join the world of bloggers (bloggees?) and begin telling all of you crazy people about my insanely busy, wildly entertaining, amazing life!

I figured it was only appropriate in the first blog, to tell you about myself. For those that know me, nothing I say should be a shocker. For those that know OF me, well at least you'll finally know more about me than my name. And for those that don't know me, I hope you enjoy what you read and we'll become friends in the future! :)

My name's Allison Marie Parker. Usually go by Ally, and YES that's spelled with a 'y' not an 'i'. I'm currently 21 years old, living in Fishers, IN.(small town outside of Indianapolis) And I love it here!

Can you blame me for loving it here?!?!

I'm a nanny for a wonderful family and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better job at this point in my life. I'm enrolled into school at Ivy Tech Community College. I have no idea what I want to do in the future, but I'm just taking my life day by day and hopefully something just pops up that I'll absolutely love doing forever!

A little bit of my background...
I was born in Dallas, TX! Mostly raised in McKinney, TX (small suburb outside of Dallas). After I graduated highschool, I was in desperate need of a change, so I moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota (where my mom and sister lived my senior year). Can't say I was happy there, by any means, but I can say I learned a lot about myself while living there. Sioux Falls definitely showed me who I was and also helped me gain a stronger relationship with Christ. One of the many reasons I was able to find myself and gain a stronger relationship with Him is because I was a Sioux Falls Young Life leader. I had such a great support team and I can definitely say I miss all of my fellow Young Life leaders a lot. :(

Now that I've rambled on and on about my life and a little bit about me, I think it's time to wrap this up. I'm sure all of you are bored with reading this crazy long blong. Maybe, maybe not? It's bedtime for this girl...until next time, Bloggees!<3
